How does Napigation differ from standard GPS navigation apps?
Navigation apps are built for active driving guidance and drain battery rapidly. Napigation is a "passive navigation" system for passengers. It utilizes a highly efficient algorithm that remains dormant and alerts you only upon proximity to your destination.
Can I use Napigation without paying?
Yes. The app is free to download and includes the core daily-use experience. Advanced capabilities are available for riders who want expanded functionality.
Will the app keep working if my phone is in my pocket with the screen off?
Yes. Our architecture utilizes dedicated OS Foreground Services, ensuring that location tracking and application survival are maintained in the background, even when the screen is fully locked and off.
Who is Napigation for?
Napigation is built for bus, train, and public transport riders who want to read, work, or rest during a trip and receive an alert before they need to get off.
What is your data collection policy?
Your GPS location is processed on-device and never sent to our servers or stored, and no account is required. To improve the app we collect only anonymous, aggregated analytics with no personal identification, and address searches are forwarded to an external geocoding service. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Will my phone ring if it's set to "Silent" or "Vibrate"?
Yes. Napigation's alerting mechanism is designed to override standard audio settings at the critical moment you approach your destination. The app automatically boosts media volume and triggers strong vibration to maximize the chance you wake up on time. (Note: if media volume is set to 0, make sure you've raised it.)
Is there an iPhone (iOS) version?
The Android app is available now on Google Play. The iOS version is in active development and beta testing, and will be released soon on the App Store. Use the platform switch at the top of the page to check availability.
